Question by [email protected]: What is the best stroke for a long distance swim?
I swam a little less than a mile and I thought switching sides on the side stroke every couple minutes worked really good. What do you think? Plus, what muscles work different strokes when swimming?

Personally for any “lengthy” swim I like to switch my strokes up.I pretty much stay away from “freestyle” because if your going any distance,it will tire you out the fastest.
I would switch up between back stroke and breast stroke, and some side stroke.(If your swimming and want to get fit,do as much freestyle as you can stand)Keep moving and you will work your whole body with no impact that is the beauty of swimming.
